Artist Project
Natan AK, the stage name and musical project of Natan Aber-Krusner, is a Montreal-based singer and multi-instrumentalist. He released his debut EP In Your Denim in March of 2026, and can be found performing his music across Eastern Canada. Drawing on shoegaze, experimental practice, and the simplicity of everyday life, Natan AK creates a sound that is both emotionally textured and sonically immersive.

In Your Denim
In Your Denim is a conceptual ode to Montreal. The EP illustrates a hyperbolized story of life in the city showcasing the pain and the pleasure, the beautiful and the mundane, capturing a personified narrative of the shared emotions AK has witnessed in the artist scene. This album is an homage to the people and spaces he has interacted with, and the mark they left on him.
Denim
“Denim”’s depiction of melancholy plays between the bittersweetness of coming of age in Montreal and the tragedy of losing friends to suicide as a young adult. Structurally, the song rises in tension throughout, reaching an outro musically reminiscent of hitting one’s breaking point and beginning to cope again.
Yellow Light
Somewhat cryptic in nature, “Yellow Light” tells a story of navigating relationships, social scenes, and self identity in one’s early twenties. The simplicity and thoughtfulness of the song’s lyrics add a softness to the otherwise loud and forward instrumentation.
“Yellow Light” contrasts “Denim” in its perspective on the realities of growing up—one with more ego, bravado, and crudeness.
Visual
The music video for “Denim”—directed by Aaron Nadal—is a playful nod to Coldplay’s “Yellow”. Shot from the trunk of a Toyota Avalon, the video warps time to immerse viewers in a sense of isolated fixation. The snowy Mile-Ex neighbourhood serves as a backdrop, perfectly capturing the dreary side of Montreal while also contributing to its unique intrigue.
Harley
Released in 2022, “Harley” is Natan AK’s debut single. Composed with layers of upbeat and bright instrumentation, the song’s cheerful mood masks an honest exploration of depression, staged through a conversation between a boy and his dog.

About
Natan Aber-Krusner is an artist and audio engineer. He was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, then moved to Montreal in 2017 to pursue a liberal arts bachelor’s degree at McGill University.
Following his studies in 2021, he trained for a year under Juno Award winning audio engineers Daniel Cinelli and Jacob Lacroix-Cardinal at the renowned Planet Studios in Montreal’s La Petite-Patrie neighbourhood.
Since then, Natan has gained experience at every level in the music and audio industry. He has released a self-produced EP, creatively coordinated the cultural identity of one of Montreal’s leading DIY venues, and constructed and managed professional recording studios. He now spends his time producing music for his peers and working in audio post-production for the TV/film industry.
Above all, he values the interpersonal connections and collaborative projects that his creative work allows him to enjoy.
